Beattie Runs Solo US#1 10:09.09 for 3,200mPublished by
Distance Gala Report Illinois senior standout Kayla Beattie (Sr., Woodstock, IL) ran a US#1 time of 10:09.09 for 3,200m Thursday evening at the Fox Valley Conference Championship. Beattie, who ran a US#3 time of 10:16.48 at her county championship on April 21, continues to show why she may just be the top runner in the nation this spring. Beattie won the 3,200m race by nearly a minute and a half, as her second place competitor finished in a time of 11:32.08. Later on in the evening, Beattie also won the 1,600m, winning with a time of 4:50.83, just short of her US#2 performance of 4:48.97, which she ran on April 29th. Second place finished in 5:16.52. The University of Iowa bound senior will next race at the Belvidere North Sectional on Thursday, May 12. More news |
