Lutz Commits to Longhorns, Sveinsson On the MendPublished by
Over the weekend, 2010 Nike Cross Nationals individual champion Craig Lutz (Sr., Marcus, TX) verbally committed to the University of Texas. The multi-time state champion decided upon the Longhorns after strongly considering the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill and Oklahoma State University. Lutz' commitment is the first among the stellar class of 2011. With athletes like Joe and Jim Rosa, Elias Geydon and Lukas Verzbicas, Lutz' announcement starts the college decision making process off in a big way. In other prep news, the Dallas News wrote a nice piece last week with updates on Lutz and Chelsey Sveinsson (Sr., Greenhill, TX). It seems as though Lutz was out most of the summer due to a trio of strange illnesses, but is on the mend and back to regular training. Sveinsson on the other hand, isn't fully recovered from her stress fracture from this past spring, and may not be 100% by the time championship season rolls around later this fall.
