On Saturday, the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix showcased some of the finest talent in the world. With so many stars in attendance, Boston was the place to be. As usual, the mile owned many of the top highlights, but it wasn't just the men's elite mile. In the junior mile, Gala veteran Miles Schoedler (NJ) won in an impressive 4:16.92, kicking away from the field to win by nearly one second. Meanwhile, in the men's master's mile, Gala board member and esteemed rabbit, Charlie Kern (IL), won the event in 4:19.73, breaking the event record by over three seconds and winning by four seconds. Kern is the top ranked master's miler in the United States. In the main event, the men's mile, prep senior Lukas Verzbicas (IL), who owns the Gala two-mile record, placed eighth overall in 4:03.88, which ranks the University of Oregon bound runner US #3 all-time in the event. Congrats to all the success from these three standout athletes on Saturday and here's to all three taking home even more honors this track season. |
