At the New Balance Games this past weekend, many of the top prep milers converged at the Armory Track and Field Center in New York City, squaring off to see who would earn early indoor season bragging rights. A stacked boys field was highly competitve, as anticipated, but winner Chad Noelle (Sr., Greene Central, NY) made it seem easy, winning the event by nearly four seconds in 4:11.64. Noelle used a strong kick to hold off runner-up Jeramy Elkaim (NJ), who finished second in 4:15.05, while Jeff LaCoste (NH) finished third in 4:15.88.

The University of Oregon-bound Noelle not only won the race in a US#1 time, but also earned a trip to the Millrose Games, which take place in early February. Noelle is the early favorite to take the boys mile event, while Ajee Wilson (NJ) and Lindsay Crevoiserat (CT) are considered the early favorites on the girls side.
