Lukas Verzbicas (So., Sandburg) kicked off his sophomore cross country season much of the same way he's run since his first steps last year at this time...leading from the front.  Verzbicas crushed a good field at the Lions Pride Invitational Saturday morning, winning by nearly a minute in 14:19.76 (4,800m).  Verzbicas ran away and had a huge lead after the first mile, building on the lead, while helping his team to a third place finish.  Lyons Twp.'s Sam Telfar finished second in 15:15.62.
